oh my word it is full of fear inducing tactics....doom and gloom outlooks.... anxiety inducing methods to develop absolute control over witnesses and cripple them in any attempt to think for themselves!.

So, in summary, simply report all accusations of what is a CRIME to the police. Immediately. Simple.
Cooperate with the authorities. Simple.
Support the accusers. Simple.
Seems to be fairly logical and common sense.
How the hell do they get it so wrong?
I like otwo's suggestion of reminding congregation goers to check whatever website lists sexual offenders for your area for the protection of your children. Again common sense.

There's a lot of talk on here about changes the society must make, one of them being the announcing of sexual predators in the congregation. I agree. But do any other organizations do the same? Any other churches, groups, clubs?
I know that to work with kids here in the UK, you have to pass a crb check, and if you've got anything like that on your record then no way José. But if a crb check isn't mandatory (which it clearly should be), then does any other group do what we think the WT should?

a biology professor is speaking out, demanding an apology and calling for an end to attempts to perpetuate lies against evolution after a statement from him was taken out of context in a creationist article in awake!, a jehovahs witness publication.
he says that a portion of his statement was picked from the whole, leaving a completely different impression from his actual statement.. .

Well, I, for one, shall never trust professor Singh again after this quote in the Awake magazine. Incidentally, I'm very rich and was going to commission professor Singh to undertake several studies for me. But not any more.
(there, his reputation has been damaged and he's out of pocket financially. Go ahead and seek restitution prof!)

How many of you followed the WTS direction on education years ago and have been screwed by it?
by Julia Orwell ini'm really interested in this question because i've heard for years that if you forgo further education and go pioneering, when you have a family down the track you will get a good job because jehovah will provide for you because you pioneered.
as long as i was a kool-aid drinker, even then, i thought, "how does pioneering pay your bills?
surely education should come first.

Really don't feel like a JW anymore
by snare&racket init has been a good 8 years away from my area, a good 10 years + since i was regularly at meetings.
a good 12 years since i was hesitantly active.. it is a slow process but it does happen.
i now feel no connection to the belief system beyond memories.
